Tinkoff Platinum

This time we began with a 'preshoot'— a roughly shot video with a smartphone. The result always looks a bit ridiculous, but actually, based on our experience, a preshoot is a very powerful useful tool. Having it from the very beginning of full production cycle, enormously simplifies the production of animatic — the next step of our cg pipeline.

As we started working on animatic, we also initiated the development of animals, considering their overall shapes, sizes, and dimensions, and progressing to the final detailing and stylization to match "low-poly" look. Our goal was to ensure that our animals closely resembled the illustrations on the credit cards generously provided by the Tinkoff team.

Eventually we managed to closely match the original design of the animals on the Tinkoff cards by combining shading parameters and textures. The nuanced detail of the frosty breath brought a light of life to out tiger.

Since the stylized world's final appearance wasn't initially clear, we experimented not only with shading and lighting but also with color correction and compositing to find the most visually appealing look for the future video.
